DR. GALINA MIRONOVA, NATUROPATHIC DOCTOR, PCOS HOLISTIC SPECIALIST

As long as Dr. Galina can remember, she has watched those around her struggle with their health within the conventional model of medicine and she knew that there had to be something more. Being born in Ukraine, her family always relied on natural home remedies to treat ailments, as was the norm there at that time. The medicine cabinet never had a shortage of valerian and chamomile to treat stress and high blood pressure, while iodine was always used topically for every scrape. When her family immigrated to the US, she watched her grandparents put on multiple prescription medications for only a few health issues and even more medications to help with the side effects of the original prescriptions. With time she became disillusioned with the conventional medical model, especially the quick doctor’s visits, without any attention to underlying health concerns. Eventually, she was inspired to follow her heart and chose a career in Naturopathic Medicine – a field that she knew would allow her to practice medicine the way her family did not get a chance to experience while she was growing up.

Dr. Galina grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland, OH and after graduating from Naturopathic medical school, she first moved to New York City. Her journey then led her to Chicago where she achieved her dream of opening a private practice. She later spent 3 years practicing in Los Angeles, California but then moved back to Illinois at the start of 2020.  She is happy to be back in Chicago where she is currently practicing in private online practice as a tele-health practitioner in certain states (see legal disclaimer below). Outside of the clinic, Dr. Galina enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets, as well as reading, writing, and painting.

Dr. Galina is a holistic PCOS specialist. She has developed a naturopathic program for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) treatment and management.

In her practice, Dr. Galina sees a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. She individualizes her approach for each patient and utilizes holistic methods while enabling the patient to play an active role in their care. The path to healing is achieved by the integration of conventional and naturopathic modalities and a combination of supplementation, nutrition, botanical medicine, counseling, and lifestyle recommendations to enhance the mind-body connection. Although Dr. Galina is trained in general medicine and cares for people of all ages, genders, and for many conditions, her special interests include weight loss, nutrition, women’s health, holistic dermatology, digestive health, and pediatrics.  She is also a candidate for the Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) examination.

Her professional affiliations include the American Association of Naturopathic practitioners (AANP) and the Illinois Association of Naturopathic practitioners (ILANP). She has completed additional training in IV Therapeutics, PRP Aesthetic Treatment, and Craniosacral Therapy (CST).

FROM DR. GALINA

“When I say that I understand what my patients with hormonal imbalance are going through, I mean it! For the majority of my teenage and adult life I had suffered with hormonal imbalance. I have been through many of the most common hormone issues that a woman can experience, including irregular periods, PCOS, infertility, post-partum problems, hypothyroidism, and adrenal fatigue. My health problems took me on a journey of self-realization and along the way I discovered the wonders that Naturopathic and Functional Medicine offers for women like me. I have successfully healed myself and many others along the way.  My path to wellness not only made me a better and more knowledgeable practitioner, but a healthier person and a positive example for my patients.  One of the main lessons I have taken away from all this, is that consistency and patience are key when it comes to starting your health and wellness journey, especially when it involves hormonal balance, or lack thereof.  I invite you to join me on this journey and let me help you re-discover what it means to feel well.”
